THE ROUTE
The main attraction of the Conegliano hills is certainly the Prosecco wine, which in these areas sees one of its most important production area: here, in fact, the expanses of vineyards extend as far as the eye can see, giving rise to a pleasant and evocative landscape, one of a kind.
The departure takes place from the southern outskirts of Conegliano and immediately plunges into the vineyards that characterize the whole area: in fact, you first cross the rows of the wine school, then go up to Collalbrigo and then walk along the panoramic ridge of the Strada delle Caneve.
In nearby Valbona, whose namesake stream is forded on more than one occasion, you cycle through the bucolic scenery of meadows and vineyards to the bottom of the valley: here with a steep ascent you reach Santa Maria di Feletto from which you continue on the main road for a few kilometers to Borgo Castagne.
The vineyards remain the undisputed protagonists also between San Pietro di Feletto and Borgo Mire, while the subsequent descent to the Maset poses also features some wooded areas. The Cervano valley, on the other hand, is more open and rich in panoramas, which follow one after the other in the ups and downs of Castagnera, Confin and Formeniga; subsequently, in the stretch that runs alongside the Monticanello stream, the itinerary becomes faster and more streamlined.
However, you soon go up again, first with the stretch of via Manzana and then with that of via Monte Cristallo, thus arriving at the Castle of Conegliano: here the fun descent of the Madonna della Neve brings you back to the city center, with the itinerary that concludes on the quiet banks of the Monticano.
START POINT: Conegliano via Settembrini
