THE ROUTE

Located a few kilometers from Valdobbiadene, in the splendid setting of the Prosecco Hills, the Osteria senza Oste is an original  place where the host is simply not there: here you can eat and drink the food made available by host , then leaving an offer on the basis of what is consumed.

Born as a place to share with a few friends, over the years this reality has become increasingly popular and known, probably losing that initial spirit of conviviality and participation that characterized it: if today it is not clear what its future may be, the green balcony of the Osteria senza Oste remains undoubtedly one of the most spectacular settings in the Province of Treviso.

The itinerary explores the hills of Valdobbiadene entering the heart of the production area of Cartizze, one of the most prized Prosecco varieties, with a path with continuous ups and downs that will offer glimpses and views of unique beauty.

However, it begins with a flat stretch, leaving Vidor and going up the Piave along the banks of Settolo; After passing the village of Valdobbiadene, you enter the boundless expanses of vineyards climbing first to San Pietro di Barbozza and then, with a last challenging dirt ramp, along the panoramic Col Vetoraz mule track to the Osteria senza Oste and its scenic balcony .

Now go down at great speed along the suggestive Strada del Cartizze, then go back up to Follo and Santo Stefano before plunging back into the rows on the easy dirt road to Guia.

Fast and fun undulations characterize the wide ring on the hills east of Guia that precedes the hardest slope of the tour: from the mostly cemented bottom, the ascent through the woods of Col Mongarda allows you to move to the southernmost part of the belt hilly, the most rugged and intricate one where the vineyards become dense and close together.

In this context, the climbs in the Colbertaldo hills represent the last major bumps before the final on the heights of Vidor.

START POINT: Vidor,  F. Zadra square.
