THE ROUTE

The gentle and scenic reliefs of the eastern Altamarca, the northernmost portion of the province of Treviso, form the backdrop for this itinerary that winds its way through the three most important towns in the area: Conegliano, Vittorio Veneto and Cordignano. Relatively limited are the technical difficulties, as well as the altimetric ones which, however, given the continuous succession of short roughnesses, could prove to be more demanding than expected.

The departure takes place from Conegliano, taking the bank of the Monticano river and continuing through low hills to Cozzuolo, then continuing with a long flat sector south of Vittorio Veneto towards Anzano.

The central part of the itinerary, moving east towards Cordignano, presents the greatest difficulties first touching Lake Madruc and then the Col dell’Oca, in addition to the hills around Sarmede. From Villa di Villa the route becomes much simpler reaching Cordignano and then continuing along the dirt roads of the countryside, skirting the Meschio river and then facing the climb to San Martino, the birthplace of Ottavio Bottecchia as evidenced by the stele positioned in the village square.

The ups and downs now follow one after the other until the end of the itinerary, passing through the panoramic hills of Colle Umberto, Castello Roganzuolo and Ogliano.

We recommend that you bring a packed lunch given the mileage or break the ride in Sarmede for a lunch stop.
